Lockdown 2.0- 5 Ways To De-clutter Your Mind

On 14th April Prime Minister announced that the lock down has been extended. In the world where the future is unpredictable, it is hard to remain calm. It is hard for me to remain calm at least. Being an extrovert, it is hard for me to not meet people and not talk mainly ( many people who know me personally would tell how much I love talking )
This all leads to me overthinking about the stuff I shouldn't even be thinking at the first place.
And I hope it's not just me and there are many of us who are experiencing this.
So I started meditating and not that traditional meditation where you sit and imagine things (yes it is one of a type but for me it is exhausting). I realised meditating is just being in present and not thinking about future or past because we can't change our past and can never control our future so why worry

So I found certain ways by which you can be in the present

1.  Mindful Breathing

Just 10 mins of this is enough for calming your mind. The biggest benefit of mindful breathing is it can be done anywhere, anytime, you don't even need anything but YOU. Just sit down comfortable and 5 counts inhale and then 5 count exhale. It is so easy to do and you can distract yourself from the negative feelings. Another way is counting your breathes. Just close your eyes and bring your awareness to you breathe and count it! Again easy to do

2. Draw

Doesn't matter if you're good at drawing or not. You can doodle, draw, colour anything you like. Anything that gives you peace.
Here's a secret: It doesn't have to be perfect.
It doesn't have to be complete. Create just for the sake of creating. Enjoying the process is the ultimate motto
Here are few pages for colouring I collected fr the internet : )

3. Dance

Again dance like no one's watching you ( no one's actually watching you ). Play your favourite song. Sing along it. Dance it out. Meditative dance is all about feeling your body move and feeling the music. You may not be good at it but what I think is everything we do can be converted into a dance when music is playing in the background. Dance is always supposed to be fun!

4. Yoga

This is my personal favourite. Yoga is not just doing poses but it's all about uniting your body to your soul. You don't necessarily have to some hard yoga pose. But the main thing is feeling that pose in all your body. Feeling the breath, the areas which are involved in that pose is most important to be able to meditate! You can watch videos on youtube or just do what's comfortable for yourself. After all what's not comfortable is a thing which your mind doesn't want. Again enjoying the process is the essence

Some of the poses that can give you relaxation
1 Shashank asana
2. Vrikshasana
3. Vipritkarni
4. Puppy dog pose
5. Happy baby pose

5. Write

Write your feelings in a piece of paper. It doesn't even have to be grammatically correct. Just write whatever you're feeling at the moment. Your thoughts AT THE MOMENT. I can actually feel the uncertain and negative feelings going away when I write it down. Pen and paper are the only things that'll never judge you. So you can write your true feelings without any filters. You can even make a gratitude list. Things you're thankful to. Sometimes you can just write things you like about yourself. It really makes you feel good!

There are many other ways other than this 5 to meditate but the key point is TO ENJOY THE PROCESS and think about neither the past nor the future. Also If one day yoga works for you some other day writing may work. After all, why stick to a routine while you have so many creative ways to de-clutter your mind! Let's do something at least for 10 minutes for our mind to heal and energize.

If you know any other ways feel free to suggest in comments!.
